Shubman Gill played his last List-A match against Australia in Sydney back in October 2025.

The Vijay Hazare Trophy (VHT) just refuses to slow down. After Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma lit up the opening rounds, the spotlight now rests on Shubman Gill, who is set to finally make his return for Punjab in Round 6 of the tournament against Goa on Tuesday. With Punjab sitting comfortably at the top of the table and cruising toward qualification, Gill’s comeback only add their grip on the group. Arshdeep Singh already played the last fixture.

The Indian ODI captain missed the previous fixture against Sikkim due to food poisoning, but he is now confirmed to take the field in Jaipur. Punjab, already boasting a settled unit. This match will provide Gill with some good preparation before the India vs New Zealand ODIs, set to start on January 11.

Will Shubman Gill’s Punjab vs Goa match be live streamed?

Unfortunately for fans, the answer is no. The BCCI has once again limited broadcast coverage for the day. The only two matches that will be streamed live on January 9 are Kerala vs Pondicherry and Hyderabad vs Bengal, featuring names like Sanju Samson, Mohammed Shami, Mohammed Siraj and Tilak Varma. Punjab vs Goa is not among them.

So, while Gill finally makes his long-awaited return, fans will have to rely on score updates via the BCCI website, app, and InsideSport’s live blog.

Adding to the frustration, play in Jaipur has been delayed due to dense fog. All the matches in Jaipur have been pushed back as visibility remained poor during the morning session. The Punjab–Goa fixture was supposed to begin at 9:00 AM IST, but players are still waiting for conditions to improve.
