Prithvi Shaw is all set to embark on a new journey with Maharashtra and will take on his former side Mumbai in a warm-up game before Ranji Trophy 2025/26 season. The opening batter made his move to the new team after spending years with with Mumbai since his first-class debut. As per reports, Shaw will be a part of the Maharashtra side which will take on MUM in a three-day practice match.
Prithvi Shaw to play against Mumbai
As per News18, Shaw will take part in a three-day practice game between Maharashtra and Mumbai which will take place between October 7-9 at the MCA stadium in Gahunje. The report states that the Maharashtra Cricket Association (MCA) has announced free entry for fans to watch the contest. Shaw will be a part of the Maharashtra squad which also comprises of CSK captain Ruturaj Gaikwad and former Kerala all-rounder Jalaj Saxena.
New team, new Shaw
As per The Indian Express, Shaw claimed that no cricketer – former or present – had reached out to him during his slump. The Maharashtra star categorically stated that he expected no sympathy from anyone, noting that ‘people were busy doing their own work.’ Prithvi admitted that thinking too far ahead had cost him in the past and revealed that he had now changed his approach to taking things one day at a time.
“I mean, it’s fine. I mean, I don’t want anyone’s sympathy. It’s okay. I’ve seen this before as well. I’ve got my family’s support. And my friends who were there with me when I was not really well mentally as well. So, it’s okay. People are busy doing their work. And they have their family as well. So, it didn’t bother me at all. And I was in that zone where I’m doing everything alone. And it was really good for me,” Shaw said.
