Soppadhandi Yashasri

Soppadhandi Yashasri, born on September 4, 2003, in Hyderabad, India, is a promising young cricketer known for her right-arm medium-fast bowling and right-handed batting. Standing tall at 5 feet 9 inches, she represents Hyderabad in domestic cricket and has quickly established herself as a key player.

Yashasri’s journey into cricket began during her school days at Indus International School in Hyderabad, where she was actively involved in various sports such as kho-kho, swimming, and basketball. Her passion for cricket was ignited when she watched a friend, Pooja Vanka, bat during an inter-school match, sparking her interest in the sport.

She made her senior debut for Hyderabad in the 2018-19 Senior Women’s One Day League, playing against Odisha. Later, in 2022, she made her T20 debut against Meghalaya in the Senior Women’s T20 Trophy. In December 2022, Yashasri was selected for the India women’s U-19 team for the T20 series against South Africa and was also named as a reserve player for the 2023 Under-19 Women’s T20 World Cup.

Her career took a major leap forward in 2023 when she was bought by the UP Warriorz in the Women’s Premier League (WPL) for ₹10 lakh. She made her WPL debut in March 2023, where she impressed with a wicket in her first match. Her rise continued in June 2023, when she was named to the India A squad for the Women’s T20 Emerging Teams Asia Cup, and further solidified her place in the India A squad for a multi-format series against Australia in July 2024.

Known for her pace and precision as a right-arm medium-fast bowler, Yashasri has proven to be a valuable asset in all formats of the game. Her right-handed batting further strengthens her all-round abilities.

Outside of cricket, Yashasri enjoys traveling and staying fit, maintaining a disciplined and dynamic lifestyle. Supported by her family—her father Venugopal, mother K Fidya, and brother Srikiran—she continues to develop her career with determination and focus.
