There have been a few contrasting reports over the availability of the Sri Lankan players, for IPL 2026. Matheesha Pathirana was expected to join KKR, but it seems his ticket was cancelled. Then another report spoke about Nuwan Thusara’s injury, which might put RCB in trouble, and same is the case with Wanindu Hasaranga and Eshan Malinga.
Pathirana could be fit for KKR
Now as per Cricbuzz, the SLC will hold fitness tests for some of the players early next week, before handing out NOCs for IPL 2026. All the above mentioned players are expected to undergo fitness tests. “There are fitness tests scheduled by SLC on Monday and Tuesday and we will know about their players only after that,” said officials of multiple IPL franchises.
On the other hand, the likes of Dushmantha Chameera, Pathum Nissanka and Kamindu Mendis seems to be fit for the tournament. They are expected to play in the IPL opening clash between RCB & SRH on March 28.
