Srikkanth has claimed that Pakistan will get thrashed by India and that there is no need for the team to play the T20 WC

Former India cricket team chief selector K Srikkanth has fired a warning to Pakistan ahead of the T20 World Cup 2026 amid the ongoing drama. PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi has threatened to boycott the tournament despite being warned by the ICC, although the nation has announced the squad for the marquee event. Srikkanth has claimed that Pakistan will get thrashed by India and that there is no need for the team to play the T20 WC.

Should Pakistan avoid visiting India?

In a video on his YouTube channel, Srikkanth pointed out that India had proved their prowess in the last two T20Is against New Zealand, and warned Pakistan not to come to India. He claimed that the best option for the team was to stay away

In the last match, India scored 209 in 15 overs. In this match, they scored 150 in 10 overs. Seeing this, many teams might say ‘no, we are not coming. You can keep the cup. Hey Pakistan, don’t come. Your man Mohsin Naqvi has been talking about it — don’t come. You will be thrashed. A six hit in Colombo will land in Madras. Beware. The best option is to stay away. Find an excuse and don’t come. These boys will thrash them hard. This will send an alarming signal to every cricket team in the world. This kind of hitting in T20 cricket — I have never seen anything like it,” Srikkanth said.

Srikkanth’s remarks come after Pakistan threatened to skip the T20 World Cup in support of Bangladesh over their decision to not play their games in India. The decision was taken amid soaring tensions between both the nations and after the BCCI forced KKR to release Mustafizur Rahman before IPL 2026. India are set to lock horns with arch-rivals Pakistan on February 15.
