Virat Kohli is going through a rough patch in his career; after a disappointing show at the Border Gavaskar Trophy, he is no longer considered the most in-form best player at the moment. Virat had such a bad time that he went out on the outside edge almost every time in the series. He is so cooked at this point that his name has been added to the list of problems for the last two fixtures of the Ranji Trophy by the Delhi District Cricket Association (DDCA). It came after India’s head coach, Gautam Gambhir, had to say that it is important for the Test players to play domestic cricket.
“No bowler managed to beat him” says Akashdeep on Virat Kohli
Virat Kohli’s teammate and India’s bowler in the BGT, Akashdeep, shared his thoughts on Virat Kohli’s form. In an interview with TOI, he said, “I didn’t see any difference in Virat bhai’s batting. I’ve played with him for more than five years. Sometimes, luck plays a big role. He’s playing the way he always has, but luck hasn’t been on his side. He scored a century in the series. If you watch his batting, no bowler managed to beat him; he just got out to outside edges.”

Big players can’t be judged
Akashdeep also emphasises Virat Kohli’s greatness, saying that big players can’t be judged based on one single series. “Big players like Virat and Rohit cannot be judged based on a single series. They were playing well, but cricket doesn’t always go your way. Their class is undeniable, and having played alongside them, I can say they were doing everything right.” he said.
