WPL auction LIVE: So, finally all the teams have compiled their elaborate squads and that marks the End of WPL 2026 auction. Now, it is all about the tournament, that is due to be played early next year.

The first mega auction in the history of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) is finally here, and it arrives at a perfect moment for the sport. Barely weeks after India’s women lifted their first-ever ODI World Cup trophy, the spotlight couldn’t be higher on women’s cricket. With the bidding paddles inside a New Delhi ballroom, all five franchises will attempt to rebuild their squads. 277 players registered, but only 73 slots available. Which means many big names will walk away unsold, and a few unknowns could become overnight sensations. Deepti Sharma, Meg Lanning, and Sophie Ecclestone are touted to be big buys.

UP Warriorz enter with the fattest purse of ₹14.5 crore. Gujarat Giants follow with ₹9 crore and three RTMs after clearing out almost their entire roster. At the other end, Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals have a tighter budget and will fight to reinforce already strong core groups after retaining five each. Royal Challengers Bengaluru also kept their nucleus intact but have room to maneuver with ₹6.15 crore.

What is accelerated round at WPL auction?

After the first 67 players have been presented, the accelerated round kicks in. At that point, the franchises will pick a set number of players from the remaining pool. Once that’s done, they can then submit the names of any players from the full 277‑player list who were either not presented earlier or went unsold for further bidding.
Luckily for Parunika Sisodia, she is the 67th player on the auction list, while Sneh Deepthi is the 68th.
