Vijay Hazare Trophy LIVE, Semi-final: Devdutt Padikkal, Mayank Agarwal dismissed early

Fifty up for Karnataka as Karun Nair and Dhruv Prabhakar take the team forward. Darshan Nalkande hasn't been impressive in continuing the good work done by Bhute and Thakur. Nair has hit his first boundary after facing 31 balls! Harsh Dubey has brought himself as well after the powerplay.

Vidarbha is certainly on top here in Bengaluru after two big wickets of Mayank Agarwal and Devdutt Padikkal. It was an interesting call by Karnataka to bat first here, knowing that the pacers will get help early on. After the end of the powerplay, Karnataka are 33/2 with Karun Nair and Dhruv Prabhakar on the crease. Prabhakar, playing in place of Smaran Ravichandran, is looking good. 

Nachiket Bhute and Yash Thakur with a wicket each, with Thakur dishing out 3 maiden overs in his spell. Can Vidarbha continue with the pressure?

DEVDUTT PADIKKAL OUT 🚨

 A match-changing wicket here for Vidarbha as Devdutt Padikkal's struggles finally ended with his wicket off Yash Thakur's incredible bowling. Thakur was relentless in his lines, bowling from round the wicket. Padikkal was extremely cautious for his 4 runs off 19 balls. His feet got stuck against the superb bowling and this was about to happen as Padikkal's bat induced an edge to the keeper, who made no mistakes. 

Dhruv Prabhakar is the new man in to join Karun Nair at the crease.

A delightful start for Vidarbha as they see the back of Mayank Agarwal in the 4th over. A gutsy review by Harsh Dubey after losing their first. Nachiket Bhute gets rewarded for pitching it up. Mayank Agarwal's bat didn't come quickly to flick the ball as it went straight into the pads. The Karnataka captain is gone for 9 off 10. 

Karun Nair, who led Vidarbha last year, is now at the crease and Karnataka need to negate this spell. Nachiket and Yash Thakur have been superb. 

KAR: 14/1 after 4.1 overs

A testing spell this from Vidarbha pacers and Mayank Agarwal has been saved by a close DRS call. Nachiket Bhute with an away swinger and thought Mayank had a nick. But they lose the DRS early. A poor call by Vidarbha but it doesn't sweep away the fact that this is a testing time for Karnataka openers. 

KAR: 10/0 after 2 overs. 

Mayank Agarwal and Devdutt Padikkal are at the crease. The duo have been in incredible touch throughout the season. Can they deliver today when Karnataka needs them the most? Yash Thakur with the new ball for Vidarbha. And Mayank starts with a single off the first ball.

So, the news from the centre is that Karnataka's Mayank Agarwal has won the toss and has elected to bat first in this day-night fixture. It is an interesting choice since the wicket here might have favoured teams batting second.
