Vijay Hazare Trophy: Karnataka, Saurashtra qualify for semis

Karnataka have defeated mumbai by 55 runs via the VJD method and have qualified for the VHT 2025/26 semi-finals

Saurashtra have defeated Uttar Pradesh by 17 runs via the VJD method after rain forced the play to be stopped. As a result, SAU have qualified for the Vijay Hazare Trophy semi-final.

Saurashtra opener Harvik Desai has slammed a century off 116 deliveries and has struck 8 fours and 2 sixes so far. Chirag Jani is nearing his half-century as SAU are cruising towards victory.
Saurashtra are 234/3 and need 73 runs to win

The matches between Karnataka and Mumbai, and Saurashtra and UP have been stopped due to bad light and rain at the BCCI's CoE in Bengaluru. This means Devdutt Padikkal will have to wait for longer to get to his century. 
Karnataka are 187/1 and need 68 runs to win

Devdutt Padikkal has moved into the 80s and is well on course to slam yet another hundred in the ongoing Vijay Hazare Trophy. His partner, Karun Nair, is in his 70s as well, and the partnership between the duo is nearing the 150-run mark. Mumbai bowlers have had no answers for Karnataka's onslaught so far.
Karnataka are 185/1 and need 68 runs to win

Gajjar Sammar is the latest Saurashtra batter to depart as Vipraj Nigam bags the 3rd wicket for UP. The batter managed to score just 14 runs from 18 balls  before he was sent packing.
Saurashtra are 164/3 and need 145 runs to win

After Devdutt Padikkal, Karun Nair has now slammed a half-century off 44 deliveries as Karnataka are cruising in the run-chase. The number three batter has already scored 8 boundaries and is looking in great touch. The partnerhship between the duo is now worth 94 runs.
Karnataka are 135/1 and need 117 runs to win

Uttar Pradesh have finally managed to break the partnership between Harvik Desai and Prerak Mankad as the latter is stumped out by Aryan Juyal for 67 runs. CSK's Prashant Veer joins the wicket-taking party as Saurashtra lose their 2nd wicket.
Saurashtra are 147/2 and need 159 runs to win

Devdutt Padikkal is simply a man on a mission as he scores yet another half-century. The Karnataka opener has taken a little over 60 deliveries to breach the fifty-run mark and has struck seven fours so far. 
Karnataka are 98/1 and need 157 runs to win

Harvik Desai and Prerak Mankad have turned the tables on Uttar Pradesh as their partnership has gone past the 100-run mark. Desai has slammed a half-century off 60 deliveries, and has struck six fours and one six so far. Mankad is also in his 40s. 
Saurashtra are 108/1 and need 202 runs to win

Karnataka lose their first wicket as Mayank Agarwal is sent packing for 12 runs by Mohit Avasthi. The partnership between the captain and Padikkal is broken.This brings Karun Nair out to the middle now.
Karnataka are 44/1 and need 207 runs to win

Harvik Desai and Prerak Mankad have pulled things back for Saurashtra after the loss of an early wicket. Both batters look well settled and have moved into their 30s now. 
Saurashtra are 71/1 and need 234 runs to win

Mumbai have used three bowlers so far - Mohit Avasthi, Sairaj Patil and Onkar Tarmale - but are yet to get a breakthrough against Karnataka. Devdutt Padikkal and Mayank Agarwal look solid out in the middle. 
Karnataka are 34/0 and need 215 runs to win

There seems to be no stopping Devdutt Padikkal as his red-hot form in List A cricket continues. The Karnataka batter achieved a unique feat last week by becoming the only batter to amass 600+ runs in three consecutive Vijay Hazare Trophy seasons. DDP breached the 600-run mark in the ongoing VHT 2025/26 season in Karnataka’s round 6 game against Rajasthan.

After losing opener Vishvarajsinh Jadeja early in the innings, the onus is now on Harvik Desai and Prerak Mankad to ensure Saurashtra overcome the early blow and stablize the innings. The partnership beetween the duo is currently 36 runs off 36 deliveries.
Saurashtra are 50/1 and need 261 runs to win

Saurashtra have been dealt an early blow with Karan Chaudhary dismissing Vishvarajsinh Jadeja for 9. Harvik Desai and Prerak Mankad are on the crease for Saurashtra.

Devdutt Padikkal and Mayank Agarwal are off to a good start with boundaries coming in both overs. Karnataka 17/0 after 2.

Mayank Agarwal and Devdutt Padikkal begin Karnataka's 255-run chase. Agarwal is already off the mark with a boundary against Mohit Avasthi.

A tough task ahead for Saurashtra as they are asked to chase 311 in the second quarter-final. Captain Harvik Desai opens the batting alongside V Jadeja while Vineet Panwar starts for UP with the new ball. 

Saurashtra: 3/0 after 1 over

A superb comeback here from Mumbai as they record 254/8 after the end of 50 overs. They were 60/4 at one point before Shams Mulani made 86 off 91. Sairaj Patil delivered a confidence-boosting cameo at the end, making an unbeatem 33. Karnataka pacers were superb early on, especially Vidhyadar Patil as he took 3 wickets, while Kaverappa and Shetty took two.

A terrific end to UP's innings here in Bengaluru as they finish with 310/8. Sameer Rizvi hammered 88 off 77, scoring three boundaries in the last over. When Rinku Singh failed, UP were 134/4. Abhishek Goswami (88) also got out soon and UP were 179/5. However, in last 26 balls, UP blazed 52 runs. Chetan Sakariya was superb for Saurashtra, taking 3 for 54.

At one stage, reaching 280 seemed a tough task for Uttar Pradesh. Now, they have already added 284 and still have 2 more overs to go. Sameer Rizvi continues to bat at 64*, while Zeeshan Ansari came up with a superb cameo of 10-ball 20. 

UP: 284/8 after 48.2 overs.

The only saving grace for Mumbai has been Shams Mulani. The veteran has been in tremendous touch and has saved Mumbai from embarrassment. He has hammered 66 runs of Mumbai's total 186. Vidhyafar Patil has taken a three-fer, while Kaverappa has taken two scalps. 

Mumbai: 191/7 (43.4 Ov) 

Meanwhile, Karnataka continue to trouble Mumbai, who are now 6 down as well. However, the runs haven't come at all. Siddhesh Lad and Shams Mulani stood for a much-needed 76-run partnership but Mumbai have lost two quick wickets now in the form of Lad and Suryansh Shedge. Shams Mulani is nearing his fifty. For UP, Rizvi has completed his half century and is eyeing a quick finish. 

Mumbai: 167/6 after 40 overs

After a handy 50-run partnership between Prashant Veer and Sameer Rizvi, the former has been caught out at 30. Chetan Sakariya was brought back just for this and he has his third wicket in his second spell. While Rizvi is about to score his fifty, Prashant looked dangerous. However, he was undone with extra bounce off a shorter delivery. Vipraj Nigam is the new batter in as Uttar Pradesh eye anything above 280. 

UP: 240/6 after 44 overs. 

UP's best batter of the day, Abhishek Goswami, was well set for a hundred. But he has been adjudged stumped with Harvik Desai with a quick stumping. Parswaraj with a breakthrough as he gets the much wanted wicket. Goswami batted at a strike rate of 107.32 and hammered 12 fours. CSK's Prashant Veer is the new batter in. 

UP: 183/5 after 35 overs. 

Mumbai: 134/3 after 33.1 overs

A body blow to Uttar Pradesh as they lose captain Rinku Singh. The southpaw looked busy right from the start but got the outside edge to Prerak Mankad's skilful medium-pace bowling, getting out for 13 off 20 balls. While Abhishek Goswami is looking great, UP are now in deep trouble. Sameer Rizvi is the new batter in. 

UP: 136/4 after 23.5 overs 

In the Uttar Pradesh vs Saurashtra game, UP have lost three wickets as well, with Priyam Garg edging one to the keeper. Prerak Mankad, who is finding some swing, gets the breakthrough as Garg goes out for 35. Abhishek Goswami is nearing his fifty as he is joined by Rinku Singh in the middle. UP have crossed the 100-run mark but they really need captain Rinku to bat as long as he can. 

UP: 101/3 after 18.3 overs. 

Despite not losing a wicket in the first ten overs, Mumbai are staring down a barrel right now. They have lost four wickets now, with Hardik Tamore the latest player to be dismissed. Brilliant captaincy by Mayank Agarwal as he brought on his first-choice pacer Kaverappa, knowing the green tint on the surface. Captain Siddhesh Lad needs to play a long haul innings now. Too much dependent on him. 

Mumbai: 61/4 after 18 overs. 

Another one bites the dust for Mumbai, as it is now a well-set Angkrish Raghuvanshi who gets out. After battling 50 deliveries, he gets clean bowled with a straighter one against Vijaykumar Vyshak. Raghuvanshi hit him for a six and a four in the same over but the pacer had the last laugh, correcting his length and pitch it a bit up and Raghuvanshi played all ends up. 

Mumbai: 60/3 after 16 overs, Hardik Tamore joins captain Siddhesh Lad on the crease. 

Back-to-back blows for Mumbai as youngster Musheer Khan heads back to the pavilion after making 9 off 7. His tally includes a stupendous six over the square leg region but Vidhyadhar troubled him with his tight line and length. Musheer was adjudged out by the umpire but DRS saved him. But on the very next ball, a back-of-the-length delivery that shaped away proved to be Musheer's end on the crease as he was caught at slips. Second wicket for Vidhayadhar and second catch for DDP. 

Mumbai: 46/1 after 13.5 overs

In the Mumbai vs Karnataka game, Mumbai have finally lost a wicket in the form of Mulchandani as he goes after making 20 off 32. Vidyadhar Patil with the first breakthrough for Karnataka as the right-hander went for a wishful pull only to sky one up and Devdutt Padikkal plucked onto a safe catch. Musheer Khan is the new batter in. 

Mumbai: 38/1 after 13 overs. Raghuvanshi 16* off 42, Musheer Khan 2 off 3*

Chetan Sakariya is having a terrific quarter-final so far, as he has taken his second wicket now. Rituraj Sharma, who was struggling a bit, edges one towards slips where V Jadeja plucks a blinder of a catch to his right. Sakariya, in his 5 overs, has taken 2 wickets for 7 runs. Incredible stuff for Saurashtra. Priyam Garg is the new batter in. 

UP: 47/2 after 10 overs, with Abhishek Goswami batting on 29* off 26. 

Unlike UP, Mumbai go unscathed after the powerplay, as Raghuvanshi and Mulchandani were cautious against some tight bowling from the Karnataka pacers. 
Mumbai are 31/0 after 10 overs. 

A big wicket early on for Saurashtra here. After scoring 492 runs at an average of above 80 throughout the group stages, Aryan Juyal has gone for a duck. Massive blow for Uttar Pradesh, as they relied heavily on him with no Dhruv Jurel. 

Chetan Sakariya with the opening breakthrough as he brings one sharply back against the right-hander. Umpire took no time in raising his finger as the dismissal brings Rituraj Sharma on the crease.

UP: 20/1 after 4.0 overs

For Mumbai, two youngsters, Angkrish Raghuvanshi and Ishan Mulchandani, are there to survive the new ball. Kaverappa is doing a bit with the ball but the Mumbai duo looks solid as of now. Playing the ball late is exactly what you need in windy conditions. However, on the 10th ball of the game, Karun Nair has dropped a dolly at slips. Raghuvanshi was livid with his loose shot but has found an early reprieve with Nair slipping one.

Meanwhile, the case is similar with Abhishek Goswami and Aryan Juyal. The duo has done exceedingly well for UP so far this season, especially Juyal who is one of the highest run-getters.
