RAVINDRA JADEJA OUT AS WELL

Ravindra Jadeja has been dismissed in a bizarre fashion, caught at gully off Marco Jansen's short ball. The ball deflected off Jadeja's shoulder and the toe end of his bat, surprising everyone. Kyle Verreynne was adamant that it edged off the bat as umpire's decision has been overturned.
This freakish dismissal comes as no shocker to India's batting struggles. South Africa's review confirmed the catch, and Jadeja departs for 6 runs.

South Africa's on fire! Nitish's innings was cut short by Jansen's clever ball. But what Aiden Markram did was simple incredible. A one-handed catch of pure class. Stationed at second slip, Markram dived to almost the gully region and NKR departs for 10. Jansen banged it in short but Nitish had no control over the short ball. A one-handed stunner by the former SA captain. Washington Sundar comes to bat at number 8!

Pant caught behind vs Jansen 

From 95/1, India now stand at 105/5. Horrible batting collapse from the batters. Sai Sudharsan, Dhruv Jurel and now Rishabh Pant - all out due to some awful shotmaking. Jansen peppered Pant with a bouncer and the Indian captain dances down the track on the next ball. He slogged wildly only to get caught behind. Pant burnt a review as well.

And after a 20-min break, play resumes with Pant dancing down the track on the second ball itself to Harmer. Harmer will cause trouble to the two lefties on the crease.

From 95/1, India have collapsed to 102/4. Pathetic batting from the Indian top-order barring Jaiswal, who scored his maiden Test fifty vs SA. In an innings where India needed to bat for at least 120 overs, they have lost 4 wickets so quickly. The Guwahati pitch is also now showing signs of a rough patch that is aiding spin and bounce. SA are well and truly on top and might be prompted to give India a follow-on if they keep bowling like this.

Dhruv Jurel perishes for a duck

Now, Dhruv Jurel is gone. It is all happening for South Africa at the moment as Marco Jansen sends back Jurel. It was not a delivery to get out on as Jurel plants an axe to his own foot. Short and wide outside off stump and all Jurel skied it up for a simple catch to Keshav Maharaj at mid-on. 

Lack of footwork, lack of power and lack of timing prove to be the demise of Jurel, who might not get a chance in the first XI when India plays the next Test in 2026. Ravindra Jadeja is the new batter in.

Sai Sudharsan OUT

Another one before the Tea break and it looks all gloomy for India. Sai Sudharsan falls to Harmer's short ball, caught by Rickelton at mid-wicket. Sudharsan pulled the ball powerfully, but Rickelton held on after an initial drop, dismissing him for 15(40). India loses its third wicket. Umpires checked the catch but it turned out to be a fair one and brings in Rishabh Pant to the crease. 
India still trail by a huge 387 runs as Pant hits a six on the 2nd delivery he faces.

Yashasvi Jaiswal OUT

• Simon Harmer goes the trick against India as he takes the huge wicket of Yashasvi Jaiswal!

Unsurprisingly, Jaiswal gets to his 50-run mark! 14th Test fifty for the southpaw and he holds all the keys to India's success on Day 3. He is batting quite well, hammering the SA spinners from time to time.

KL Rahul dismissed, Sai Sudharsan joins Jaiswal 

Just before the drink break, Keshav Maharaj breaks the deadlock. Drawing KL Rahul forward, Keshav induces an edge. A tad more bounce than Rahul expected and Markram plucks an important catch at the first slip. Against the run of play as Jasiwal (42*) eyes his fifty.

Can Jaiswal run it back? Well, just when I write this, he slaps Marco Jansen for a four through the off side! A terrific cut shot.

Marco Jansen continues his over that was cut short due to low light on Day 2. KL Rahul leaves the first one before defending it on the front. Coming round the wicket, Jansen caused a lot of trouble to Rahul in Kolkata. But this is a different pitch altogether.

And on the last ball of the over comes the first boundary of the day! Overpitched and Rahul duly guides it towards extra cover for a fabulous four
