Catch the live action and real-time match updates of India vs South Africa second Test on Day 2 in Guwahati.

IND vs SA 2nd Test Live: For the first-ever time in Test cricket history, all the top-four of a side managed to breach the 35-run mark but failed to reach a half century. That really sums up the game for South Africa. It has been a tug of war, with India coming back in the game only in the third session on Day 1 after they were put to bowl first by Temba Bavuma. Rishabh Pant, leading India for the first time, has done well but without Kuldeep Yadav and Jasprit Bumrah, India can’t imagine being in front. South Africa ended Day 1 at 247/6 and now India would need to bowl them out ASAP. Catch all the live action below.

STUMPS on IND vs SA 2nd Test, Day 2

23/11/2025 16:01

Rahul's calls have been listened to. Players leave the field due to bad light on the second day in Guwahati. South Africa bowl just 6.1 overs. Both Rahul and Jaiswal are unbeaten.

India: 9/0, trail by 480 runs

South Africa: 489

KL Rahul unhappy

23/11/2025 15:58

Rahul isn't happy that in the fading light, the Proteas fast bowlers are the ones in action. He's been complaining to umpire Richard Kettleborough after almost every ball. But the pacers continue as he checks the light meter.

Reminder: The light reading on the first day will be the barometer for the play to stop or continue.

Cautious start for India

23/11/2025 15:47

With lights fading, Jaiswal and Rahul are just trying to bide the time and start afresh tomorrow. Jansen and Mulder have been on the money. Some tight lines but no real help from the surface.

Jaiswal & Rahul in the middle

23/11/2025 15:29

Marco Jansen, the last man to get for South Africa, has the new ball in hand. Here we go!

Most 6s hit by a batter in a Test innings vs India

23/11/2025 15:29

  • 7* - Marco Jansen, Guwahati, 2025

    7 - Shahid Afridi, Lahore, 2006

    6 - Vivian Richards, Delhi, 1974

    6 - Matthew Hayden, Chennai, 2001

    6 - Shahid Afridi, Faisalabad, 2006

Jansen out on 93! SA all out for 489

23/11/2025 15:18

Oh, what a gut punch. Marco Jansen has played on and will miss his maiden Test hundred. He's livid with himself. He walks back to the pavilion, hitting his bat in anger on the ground and his pads and cursing himself.

A googly from Kuldeep Yadav, Jansen goes on the back foot to dab it to the offside, but the ball takes his inside edge and rattles his stumps.

🥛Drinks on the field

23/11/2025 15:06

Pant has brought in Nitish Reddy in desperation to say the least. Marco Jansen eyes his maiden Test century, while Keshav Maharaj looks trouble less on this placid pitch.
South Africa just need 17 more runs to breach the 500-run mark. A terrific effort from where they were (201/5) at one point.

SA (483/9)

WICKET!

23/11/2025 14:34

Simon Harmer OUT
Bumrah's toil finally pays off after a magnificent delivery to Harmer, who had no answer. Angling in, it straightened up a little bit, and it was enough to hit the off stump. Bumrah doesn't celebrate but the fans in the stadium do! Keshav Maharaj is the new batter in.

SA (462/9)

Mohammed Siraj🚨

23/11/2025 14:08

Wow! Short ball does the trick finally for Mohammed Siraj, who gets Muthusamy this time. The southpaw went to guide the bouncer but skied it towards fine leg where Yashasvi Jaiswal takes a comfortable catch.
Simon Harmer, India's tormentor with the ball in the last game, comes to the crease.

SA (431/8)

Session 3 starts

23/11/2025 14:04

This may be the final session where South Africa bats. They will go a notch further in the scoring rate, with Marco Jansen at 51* and Muthusamy getting to his hundred.
Ravindra Jadeja starts the session for India and the field is also spread across the ropes to Jansen, who has already hit sixes.
SA (431/7 after 138 overs)

India vs South Africa 2nd Test LIVE: Lunch

23/11/2025 13:21

South Africa post 428/7 at lunch on Day 2 of the 2nd Test in Guwahati. Muthusamy (107*) and Jansen (51*) have absolutely dominated the 2nd session of play.
  • STAT ATTACK: Only once previously in the last 13 years have two visiting batters gone past 50 from No.7 or lower in a Test innings against India - Liam Dawson (66*) and Adil Rashid (60) at Chepauk in 2016.

Fifty for Jansen

23/11/2025 13:21

Marco Jansen has reached his half-century now. The partnership between him and Muthusamy is now 94 runs.
South Africa are 428/7

India vs South Africa 2nd Test LIVE

23/11/2025 12:51

Senuran Muthusamy brings up his century and it is the first of the series for either teams. A brilliant knock from the lower order batter. In the 195 deliveries that he has faced, he has struck 9 fours and 2 sixes. What a show from Muthusamy!

India vs South Africa 2nd Test LIVE

23/11/2025 12:47

Marco Jansen is nearing his half-century while Senuran Muthusamy is marching towards his hundred. South Africa are on the verge of going past 400 runs.

South Africa are 398/7

🚨Jadeja gets the wicket

23/11/2025 12:28

  • Ravindra Jadeja bowled a quicker, shorter, and wider ball that deceived Kyle Verreynne, who stepped out of his crease early.
  • Verreynne failed to make contact, and Rishabh Pant stumped him, ending his innings at 45(122)
  • Marco Jansen the new batter and he is in the mood to thrill!! 2 sixes already

Angry Rishabh Pant .. and rightfully so!

23/11/2025 11:48

2nd session starts

23/11/2025 11:28

After the Tea, players enter the field as Bumrah begins the second session for India. There's nothing going off the deck for pacers but we all know how lethal Bumrah could be with a semi-new ball.

SA (318/6 after 112)

SA dominate IND

23/11/2025 11:08

Session Summary: 29.1 overs | 69 runs | 0 wickets

South Africa have dominated this session. India look clueless with their plans. The hosts haven't managed to trouble the batters as South Africa win the third out of the first 4 sessions of this Test match.
Verreynne and Muthusamy have now added 70 runs for the 7th wicket, with 48 runs coming in the 2nd hour of Day 2.
SA (316/6 after 111 over)

  • We will be back in 20 mins post the Tea session.

FIFTY ALERT 🚨

23/11/2025 10:56

1st half-century of the match

Senuran Muthusamy has completed his fifty here. He has made a habit of grinding out on slow pitches. After his match-winning 89 against Pakistan, Muthuswamy comes in for this game and has instantly left an impact. A superb one. A fifty in 124 balls. Looks trouble-free as well.
However, just before his milestone, an ultra faint edge saved him from a potential LBW off Jadeja.

SA (309/4 after 109 overs)

South Africa mount 300

23/11/2025 10:38

In what could be a massive moment in the series, South Africa have breached the 300-run mark. Before the start of the day, India would've hoped to bundle SA out before 300. They haven't managed to take a single wicket! Would you believe it? Not many oohs and aahs too as Verreynne and Muthusamy alter along.

Verreynne (32*), Muthusamy (48*)

SA (303/6 after 104 overs)

Drinks Break

23/11/2025 10:10

Drinks break on the field! South Africa's batting has been solid, thanks to Muthusamy and Verreynne's partnership. Although the runs haven't exactly been flowing, they've added 28 runs in the hour. More importantly, they have negotiated the first nervy hour!

The pitch hasn't been offering much to either the pacers or spinners, making it a challenging day for India's bowlers. Unless they can pick up some quick wickets, it might be a long day ahead for India. South Africa's looking good for a total of 350+

(SA 279/6 after 96 overs)

Change of ball

23/11/2025 09:58

The changed ball could be a game-changer for India! Siraj's taking the ball for inspection, and it looks like it's not passing the test. A replacement is on its way, courtesy of the fourth umpire and their trusty briefcase.

SA (272/6 after 94 overs)

😟 IND vs SA

23/11/2025 09:35

There's nothing for the pacers unfortunately even with the new ball as of now. While Pant started with Bumrah and Siraj, quickly brought in Kuldeep Yadav from Bumrah's end. Verreynne and Muthusamy look unperturbed as South Africa reach 261/6 after 91 overs.

Guwahati pitch - IND vs SA

23/11/2025 09:01

"This second new ball, and it's a 9 AM local time start, so there would be something in it for the seamers," says Shaun Pollock on the surface on Day 2.

Well, on Day 1, we saw Bumrah and Siraj manage to get enough seam off the deck and expect the same here as well, especially in the first hour. Only disciplined batting would help the Proteas, with Kyle Verreynne (1*) and Senuran Muthusamy (26*) restarting for SA.

SA (248/6 after 82 overs)

Welcome!

23/11/2025 08:54

Hello fellas and welcome to the live coverage of Day 2 of the 2nd India vs South Africa Test in Guwahati. South Africa restart from 247/6, while India would love to get the new ball talking that is just 11 balls old!
