Well, it was expected that the popular KKR retro jersey from the inaugural IPL season would gain popularity again, and that’s exactly what happened. The defending IPL champions’ retro jersey sold out in minutes.

Jersey came and went, that’s exactly what happened with KKR’s retro kit from the inaugural IPL season, which they recently brought back.

The black-and-gold jersey, originally designed by Reebok, was a fan favourite before the franchise switched to purple and gold in 2010. Over the years, fans have repeatedly urged the team to bring back the 2008 jersey. Speculation had been circulating for a while about its return, and after a long wait, KKR finally went back in time to reintroduce the iconic kit for their supporters.

This year, excitement intensified when social media posts featuring Rinku Singh and Manish Pandey wearing the retro kit during a photoshoot went viral. And finally, during Knights Unplugged 2.0, the event that concluded the team’s trophy tour, KKR officially unveiled the much-awaited jersey.

KKR’s iconic 2008 jersey sold out in a flash

Exactly, that’s what happened, came and sold out in no time. The highly anticipated kit, which arrived at the official store, was priced at INR 1,499 and sold out in under 10 minutes. Although it’s unclear whether it will be restocked, if it does, fans can purchase it via the Knight Club app or KKR’s official website.
