Just a day before the Indian squad announcement for the West Indies Tests, there is a lot happening. As per a report in Indian Express, ace pacer Jasprit Bumrah has confirmed availability for both the Test matches in October. Even assistant coach Ryan Ten Doeschate shed light on this: “It is unlikely that Bumrah will be rested. He is set to play the West Indies Tests. We’ve got important matches coming up, and it’s good for him to keep playing and get more match time.”
Jagadeesan as Second Keeper
Apart from that, the Test side is not going to see major changes from the England squad. Yes, Rishabh Pant is still injured, but Dhruv Jurel will take over the role there for sure. N Jagadeesan comes in as the back-up keeper. But interestingly enough, the team management might go in for all-rounder Manav Suthar, who is currently playing the IND A Test against AUS A.
Manav Suthar Likely to be Picked
On Tuesday, in the second Test, he impressed with his fifer, and has been in some decent form for the last year. In 23 matches he has picked up 95 wickets and has scored 734 runs with five fifties as well, at an average of 25. That said, he might not be in the reckoning of getting a game, but could be an effort to keep the next line of spinners ready.
Ravindra Jadeja is also ready for the West Indies series, and has reached the CoE to prove his fitness. Jaddu, who had an excellent England series with the bat, would be looking to continue his form, in what can be called the last leg of his career.
