Jasprit Bumrah has added another milestone to his studded resume as he became the second Indian bowler to bag 100 wickets in T20Is. The pace spearhead achieved the feat in the IND vs SA 1st T20I in Cuttack. Arshdeep Singh is the only Indian bowler who is ahead of Bumrah in the list of Indians with most-wickets in T20Is at the moment but isn’t too far.
Another milestone for Bumrah in T20Is
Bumrah had to wait for nearly two months to get his 100th T20I wicket. His 100th wicket was, however, a controversial one as there were doubts if the delivery was a no ball. However, the third umpire reckoned that some part of the bowler’s shoe was behind the crease, hence giving Bumrah the benefit of doubt. With this, Bumrah has become the first Indian to pick 100 wickets in Tests, T20Is and ODIs.
Arshdeep is the leading wicket-getter for India in the shortest format of the game. In 81 T20Is, Bumrah has 100 wickets to his name and averages over 18. With this feat, he also becomes the second fastest Indian bowler to take 100 wickets in T20Is.

Other Indians on the list of players with over 90 wickets in T20Is include Hardik Pandya (98), out of favour spinner Yuzvendra Chahal (96) and veteran pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar (90).
While Bumrah did not bowl in the 1st T20I in Canberra – which was washed out – he did create quite an impact, albeit in a losing cause in the 2nd T20I at the MCG. He finished with figures of 2/26, including a brilliant yorker that served as a reminder of what the lethal pacer’s capabilities are. He managed to take just one wicket in the 4th T20I while he did not bowl at all in the 5th.
