Akash Deep limps off as India’s injury concerns worsen
Akash Deep shared the new ball with Jasprit Bumrah in the first innings, but Shubman Gill opted for Mohammed Siraj on Day 4. He did receive some treatment before coming to bowl his first spell of the second innings before Lunch. In fact, Gill opted to throw the ball to Nitish Kumar Reddy before the pacer suggesting his condition was not 100%.
Akash nonetheless delivered. He bowled the dangerous Harry Brook to put India in control. He bowled a short spell post lunch, which seemed to have aggravated his injury. The India physio was seen treating his hip, with pacer grimacing in pain. He was taken off just 3 overs post Lunch. Deep then limped off to the dressing room, with an update on his condition awaited.
