Sunrisers Hyderabad have categorically stated that they have no plans to part ways with either Heinrich Klaasen or Ishan Kishan before the IPL 2026 auction. Earlier, reports had claimed that SRH were looking to release the South African before the new season while multiple teams had approached the franchise for an all-cash trade deal for the Jharkhand keeper-batter. However, SRH have reportedly no plans to release either Kishan or Klaasen.
SRH not willing to part ways with Kishan, Klaasen
As per Cricbuzz, SRH sources told the publication that they have no intentions to let go of Ishan Kishan or Heinrich Klaasen. The Jharkhand keeper-batter, who moved from MI to SRH in IPL 2025 after being bagged for Rs 11.25 crore, scored 354 runs in 13 innings, including a century. Klaasen, on the other hand, has been a part of SRH since 2023 and has gone on to amass 400+ runs in each season that he has played for the franchise.
“The franchise (SRH) sources say they have no intention of parting with Ishan, nor with Heinrich Klaasen, as is being speculated lately,” the report stated.
SRH not interested in Sanju Samson
The report further claims that SRH are not too interested in Sanju Samson as they have three established openers. Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma are the current openers for the franchise and are on of the best and the most feared duo in the business. Besides, SRH also believe that Ishan is their back-up opener, thereby leaving no space for Samson in the side.
While RR have reached out to SRH to discuss a trade deal involving Sanju, the report states that they are pursuing advance talks with CSK in order to trade Samson for Ravindra Jadeja. However, they also want Dewald Brevis as a part of the deal, something which CSK haven’t agreed to yet.
