India cricket team, led by captain Rohit Sharma, left for Dubai on Saturday for the ICC Champions Trophy. India will kick start their campaign for the marquee event from January 20 onwards and will take on Bangladesh in their tournament opener. The first set of Indian players and support staff to leave from Mumbai included the Indian captain, Virat Kohli, head coach Gautam Gambhir, Hardik Pandya among others.

Several Indian team members were spotted at the Chhatrapati Sivaji Maharaj International Airport on Saturday. Apart from the aforementioned stars, Ravindra Jadeja, Washington Sundar, KL Rahul, Rishabh Pant, Kuldeep Yadav, Varun Chakravarthy, Shreyas Iyer, Axar Patel, Harshit Rana and Arshdeep Singh were the Indian players who left for Dubai. From the support staff, bowling coach Morne Morkel, assistant coach Ryan ten Doeschate, T Dilip were a part of the contingent that left for UAE. News agency ANI reported that Hardik was the last to join the team.

India made two last-minute changes to their Champions Trophy squad. Jasprit Bumrah has been ruled out of the tournament Harshit Rana has been included. Spinner Varun Chakravarthy replaced Yashasvi Jaiswal in the squad.
