The BCCI announced the India U19 squad for the tour of Australia in September. Chennai Super Kings star Ayush Mhatre will lead the side that will play 5 games against Australia U19. RR starlet Vaibhav Suryavanshi also features in the side, with Samit Dravid once again omitted.
Ayush Mhatre was the captain on India U19 ‘s tour to England in July. The 18-year-old led India Colts to a 3-2 ODI series win. India performed well in the red ball games as well, with both matches ending in draws.
Mhatre was the leading run-getter with two centuries, tallying 340 runs across 4 innings. Suryavanshi meanwhile took ODIs by storm, scoring 355 runs in the 5 match series. Vihaan Malhotra also impressed in England, and was named deputy for the series down under. The tour will take place after the Duleep Trophy in Bengaluru.
