India cricket have made 1 change to their playing XI for the IND vs NZ 3rd ODI on Sunday as they aim to seal another series win at home. After winning a nail-biting contest in the 1st ODI, the Men in Blue were completely outclassed by the Kiwis in the 2nd game as they lost by 7 wickets. Arshdeep Singh, who warmed the bench in the first two games, will replace Prasidh Krishna in the playing XI.
India playing XI for IND vs NZ 3rd ODI
Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill(c), Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, KL Rahul(w), Ravindra Jadeja, Nitish Kumar Reddy, Harshit Rana, Kuldeep Yadav, Mohammed Siraj, Arshdeep Singh
Bench: Prasidh Krishna, Ayush Badoni, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Dhruv Jurel
India have decided to use the services of their leading wicket-taker in T20Is and the team’s future spearhead in ODIs Arshdeep in the series decider. Krishna, who was a part of the last two games, had registered figures of 2/60 and 1/49. India would perhaps want to use Arshdeep with the new ball to try and get some early breakthroughs against the Kiwis.
The rest of the line-up remains the same, with Rohit set to open with captain Gill. Virat, Shreyas and Rahul have been sensational so far in this series and will be aiming to replicate their feat in the IND vs NZ 3rd ODI as well. This would also be the last chance saloon for Jadeja to do something in order to hold onto his spot in the ODI side.
Nitish has also managed to retain his spot in the playing XI even after India assistant coach Ryan ten Doeschate’s ‘unimpressive’ remarks following the 2nd ODI.
Jurel, Badoni (added as Washington Sundar’s replacement), Jaiswal will finish the series without getting even a single game.
