India face off against an unbeaten Australia in the Women’s World Cup 2025 semifinal on Thursday. Captain Harmanpreet Kaur has made a couple of changes for the big game, with Pratika Rawal ruled out with injury. After experimenting with 5 bowlers for the entire tournament, India have shelved the plan, adding another all-rounder for the IND-W vs AUS-W clash.
India Women Playing XI: Smriti Mandhana, Shafali Verma, Amanjot Kaur, Harmanpreet Kaur, Jemimah Rodrigues, Richa Ghosh, Deepti Sharma, Radha Yadav, Shree Charani, Renuka Thakur, Kranti Gaud.
No Harleen, India opt for extra seamer
Harleen Deol’s patchy form during the Women’s World Cup 2025 has seen her miss out on a place in the semifinal. After Australia chased down a record score in the league stage game, India have opted to add an extra bowling option to their ranks. Amanjot Kaur retained her place in the XI ahead of Deol, and is carded to bat at No.3.
That means India have opted to feature 3 seam bowling options. Amanjot will partner Kranti Gaud and Renuka Singh Thakur with the new ball. In the spin department, Deepti Sharma leads the way with Radha Yadav and Shree Charani for company. Shafali, who replaced Pratika Rawal, is also a part-time leg spin option.
