IND vs PAK Asia Cup tickets hit black market for Rs 15 lakh even before official launch amid boycott calls

Despite the Govt of India clearing the BCCI and India Cricket Team to face Pakistan in multinational events, many fans have called for a boucott. But that hasn't reduced the demand for IND vs PAK tickets in Asia Cup.

Even though a section of Indian cricket fans is calling for a boycott of the India vs Pakistan match at the Asia Cup 2025, demand for tickets has already hit the roof. India will face Pakistan on September 14 in Dubai for the first time since Operation Sindoor. It was in the aftermath of a terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu & Kashmir, on April 26. IND vs PAK Asia Cup tickets are already on the black market for as high as Rs 15.75 lakh. Ticket sales will begin over the weekend and will be priced reasonably, as per officials.

“The sale of tickets is expected to be opened in two days,” Gulf News cited a source working closely with the Asia Cup organisers.

ECB Chief Operating Officer Subhan Ahmed also advised fans not to fall prey to dubious websites.

“The Asian Cricket Council and ECB had to issue a social media alert advising fans to only purchase tickets through the official website once sales open,” he said.

Even as fans call for a boycott, IND vs PAK Asia Cup tickets hit the black market for a whopping Rs 15 lakh even before the official launch.

IND vs PAK Asia Cup tickets on black market

The Asian Cricket Council hasn’t officially launched the tickets for the Asia Cup. But many third-party websites have already listed such tickets. IND vs PAK Asia Cup tickets start from Rs 26,256 (AED 1100). It goes up to Rs 15.75 lakh (AED 66,000). However, fans who are not boycotting the match should not fall prey to such sites.

With India likely to face Pakistan again in Super 4, on September 21, the website has already listed the tickets. India could end up facing Pakistan a third time if both sides qualify for the Asia Cup final on September 28.

The matches, including India vs UAE and India vs Oman, are also on sale on those scammy sites. Pakistan’s tickets are also available.

India cleared to play Pakistan

While Pakistan boycotted travel to India for Asia Cup hockey, the Indian government cleared the cricket team. India can now face Pakistan in multinational events. These events include Asia Cup 2025, Women’s World Cup 2025 and T20 World Cup 2026. However, all matches must be hosted in neutral venues.

“With regard to international and multilateral events, in India or abroad, we are guided by the practices of international sports bodies and the interest of our own sportspersons. It is also relevant to take into account India’s emergence as a credible venue to host international sports events. Accordingly, Indian teams and individual players will take part in international events that also have teams or players from Pakistan. Similarly, Pakistani players and teams will be able to participate in such multilateral events hosted by India,” the Indian sports ministry said in a statement, saying no to any bilateral sports.

Following the Asia Cup, the India Women’s Team will take on Pakistan in the Women’s World Cup in Colombo on October 5. In T20 World Cup, India men’s team will face Pakistan in a neutral venue. Before the ICC Champions Trophy, BCCI refused to send the team to Pakistan. Hence, both the BCCI and the Pakistan Cricket Board came to an agreement that all future IND vs PAK matches will be played in neutral venues, including when either is the host.
