The Indian team is slated to take part in a white-ball series against Australia, right after the second Test vs West Indies. In fact, as per PTI, the ODI squad is slated to depart for AUS on October 15, just a day after the 2nd Test ends. Shubman Gill’s ODI team will play three matches Down Under, followed by five T20Is.
Indian Team to Leave After West Indies Test
The report further suggests that the team will leave in two batches; the first in the morning and the second one in the evening, depending on the availability of business class flight tickets. “Virat and Rohit will touch down in the capital either on the day of departure or a day prior,” a source in the know told PTI.
Gautam Gambhir to Host Team Dinner
Meanwhile, the first ODI will begin in Perth on October 19. As far as the squad is concerned, there was a lot of conjecture around Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma’s future in international cricket, but it seems, the duo have expressed their desire to continue until the 2027 World Cup. Apart from that, the head coach Gautam Gambhir has invited the entire squad for a team dinner at his residence in Rajinder Nagar.
