ICC Champions Trophy opening ceremony: Pakistan Air Force to dazzle one-of-a-kind event with fighter jets

The opening match of the ICC Champions Trophy will be played between the hosts Pakistan and New Zealand on February 19.

The Pakistan Air Force (PAF) is set to host a spectacular opening ceremony for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, making it a one-of-a-kind event. The highly anticipated cricket tournament will begin with a surreal aerial display, Hosting an ICC event after a long hiatus, it is certainly a patriotic moment for Pakistan. According to reports in Pakistan, PAF’s renowned Sherdil Aerobatics Team, along with JF-17 Thunder and F-16 fighter jets, will take center stage. These aircraft will perform aerobatic stunts, giving a display of the nation’s aerial prowess.

Historic moment for Pakistan come the ICC Champions Trophy

This will be the first major international cricket tournament held in Pakistan since the 1996 Cricket World Cup. The country has previously hosted prestigious events such as the Hockey World Cup (1990), the Hockey Champions Trophy (1994), and the World Amateur Snooker Championship (1993).

Currently, Karachi is getting ready! The Pakistan Cricket Board has confirmed that the opening ceremony of the tournament will kick off on February 19, and rumor has it that the organizers have a thrilling surprise in store for the fans!

The ICC Champions Trophy 2025 will feature 15 matches, with Pakistan facing New Zealand in the opening clash at the National Bank Stadium in Karachi. The final will take place on March 9.

The tournament will host the world’s top eight cricket teams: Australia, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, England, India, New Zealand, Pakistan, and South Africa. This marks Pakistan’s first time hosting a major multi-nation cricket event in nearly three decades. Notably, India’s denial to go Pakistan forced ICC to make it a hybrid tournament, with Dubai hosting all the matches for India.
