1973 was the first time a Women’s ODI cricket match was played. Unfortunately, the game between New Zealand and Jamaica was abandoned due to rain. In the second match between Australia and Young England, the target of 58 was chased down by Australia.

Five of the six highest chases have come in the last two years. The top two came in October 2025 during the Women’s ODI World Cup, with Australia holding the record first and then India overtaking them.
