Harshal Patel continues to be one of the biggest wicket-takers in the Indian Premier League (IPL). The right-arm pacer has become just the 13th bowler to claim 150 wickets in the league, and that too in record time. Harshal has become the second fastest bowler to reach the milestone.
Fastest bowlers to take 150 wickets in IPL
Harshal isn’t as economical as others on the list, but he’s right up there when it comes to bowling strike rate. Since 2021, he’s the only bowler in the IPL to claim 100 wickets. In the last 4 years, no one has a better wickets-per-match ratio than Harshal. People may not consider him the ‘best’ bowler, but if you need wickets, hand him the ball.

It was a masterful slow and dipping yorker to a well-set Aiden Markram that got Harshal his 150th wicket in the IPL. It wasn’t his best day, as he bowled two waist-high no-balls and even dropped Mitchell Marsh in his follow-through. But given that he’s a wicket-taker, he created a few chances and finally got a wicket in his penultimate over.
