GT has the third-lowest purse for the IPL 2026 auction — INR 12.90 crore. However, since they have already retained 20 players and only need to fill 5 slots to reach the maximum of 25 players, they have more than enough money. At best, GT can acquire 4 overseas players, as they have already retained 4.
Players GT should target IPL 2026 auction
Gujarat will look to find a like-for-like replacement for the players they have released. They’ll look at someone like Daniel Sams, Wiaan Mulder, or Jason Holder to plug the all-rounder gap. In the spin department, they might go for Michael Bracewell, George Linde, or Liam Livingstone.
There will be plenty of fast bowlers, but finding a quality Indian pacer will be essential. Someone like Simarjeet Singh or Akash Deep could be a good buy. GT might look to bring back David Miller, since they have traded Sherfane Rutherford to the Mumbai Indians.
