The Gujarat Titans (GT) retained the joint-most 20 players ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 auction. After releasing just five players, all they needed were backups. GT spent Rs 7 Cr for Jason Holder to have a great all-round option. They also spent Rs 2 Cr on Tom Banton as a backup for Jos Buttler. They invested further in pace bowling buying Luke Wood and Ashok Sharma.
GT had no interest in the first half of the auction as their first pick of the day came almost three hours after the auction’s commencement. GT added another domestic pacer in their arsenal, bringing in Ashok Sharma, who is known for bowling at high speed in the domestic circuit.
