Mumbai Indians won the toss in the clash vs Gujarat Titans on Saturday, and opted to bowl first. But the decision notwithstanding, Shubman Gill, the GT skipper opted to go for the same playing XI from the previous match. At the toss he said, “Batted first plenty of times here, so nothing changes for us.
Shubman Gill Fields Same XI vs MI
“It is all about assessing the conditions and seeing what target we can set, and if we are chasing it is about how to get to that target. Plenty of positives from the last game, we just got slow in the middle and that post us, but still we managed to score about 200 runs in 14 overs. We have got the same team, might see one change with the impact sub.”
Mohammed Siraj Finds a Spot Again
In the last match, GT had lost a close match, and lost by 11 runs vs Punjab Kings a few days back. There were a few inspiring performances, especially by the batters, where Sai Sudharsan scored 74 in 41 deliveries, and Jos Buttler also scored a fifty. But the problem was the bowling, where just about everyone leaked runs.
Mohammed Siraj went wicketless in his four overs and gave away 54 runs. Rashid Khan also returned with figures of 1/48 in his quota. Another pacers, Prasidh Krishna was ineffective, where he gave away 41 runs only in three overs.
