IND vs ENG 4th Test, Day 2: Root-Pope take England to 225/2 at Stumps, trail India by 133 runs

Injured Rishabh Pant hit fifty as India posted 358 after Ben Stokes bagged a five-wicket haul in Manchester Test.

IND vs ENG 4th Test, Day 2: Joe Root (11) and Ollie Pope (20) helped England close the day at 225/2. England are still trailing India by 133 runs. But it was the 166-run opening stand between Zak Crawley and Ben Duckett that put England in command. Ravindra Jadeja broke the mammoth stand, removing Crawley for 84. Anshul Kamboj bagged his maiden Test wicket, dismissing Duckett for 94. Earlier in the day, the visitors were bowled out for 358 runs, with Rishabh Pant smashing a valiant half-century after coming out to bat on Day 2 despite a fractured toe. None of the Indian bowlers – Bumrah, Siraj, Kamboj or Shardul – could get a breakthrough in the 2nd session.
