If the match is washed out, the West Indies will qualify for the semifinal.

49 matches into the T20 World Cup 2026, just 2 games have been seriously affected by rain. Both were abandoned, one in the group stage and one in the Super 8. That’s despite Sri Lanka hosting 19 clashes. The country’s notorious for rain, expected and unexpected. Several ICC events have suffered in the past, but not this time.

Luckily, the virtual quarterfinal between India and the West Indies won’t be played in Sri Lanka. The Eden Gardens in Kolkata will host the match on March 1 and will decide who faces England in the second semifinal at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on March 4.

Now, all Windies fans would like for the match to be washed out. Since the Men in Maroon have a superior net run rate (NRR), they’ll qualify in case the game ends in a no result. As for India, a win will take them through to the final four. Will rain play a role? Find out below.

India vs West Indies match weather report

According to AccuWeather, the temperature will hover between 24° and 30° Celsius during the last Super 8 match of the T20 World Cup. The good news for Team India is that there is no chance of rain during match hours.

Clear skies are expected throughout the day. With each passing hour, humidity will increase and could play a crucial role in the outcome of the match. But that’s nothing out of the ordinary.
