Welcome to our special segment, DRS or the Daily Review System. In this, InsideSport will provide you with the top cricket stories from a day before that you might have missed in the hustle and bustle of your busy life.

RCB’s homecoming dream might just come true. The India-Bangladesh conflict wasn’t just limited to ICC. Would Steve Smith have denied taking a run while batting with Virat Kohli? Ajinkya Rahane has taken a personal leave. Why was Shubman Gill snubbed for the T20 World Cup?

RCB

KSCA has confirmed that the Karnataka government has granted them clearance to host matches at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium. The venue will need to pass safety tests before RCB will be allowed to play there in IPL 2026. The franchise recently pledged INR 4.50 crore to KSCA for the installation of 300 to 350 AI-enabled cameras.

ICC-BCB

The ICC has failed to convince the BCB to send Bangladesh to India for the T20 World Cup. After holding discussions in Dhaka, the BCB has suggested the ICC swap their groups and Ireland’s. Bangladesh is to play group-stage matches in India, while Ireland’s games are in Sri Lanka.

No handshake in IND vs BAN vs match

After India and Bangladesh didn’t shake hands at the toss during their Under-19 ODI World Cup match, the BCB has issued a statement, labelling the no handshake as ‘unintentional’. BCB explained that the incident happened due to a ‘momentary lapse in concentration’ and Bangladesh didn’t intend to show any ‘disregard towards the opposition’. After India won the match, both teams shook hands.

Babar

After Steve Smith denied giving the strike to Babar Azam, former Pakistani cricketers have criticised the Sydney Sixers and Smith. Kamran Akmal stated that the BBL franchise should drop Babar instead of disrespecting him. Basit Ali claimed that Smith wouldn’t have denied the run if Virat Kohli had asked him, and it’s Babar’s fault that his game has deteriorated.

DRS 5

Rahane

Ajinkya Rahane won’t be taking part in the second leg of the Ranji Trophy 2025-26. The former India captain has informed the Mumbai Cricket Association that he won’t be available for selection due to personal reasons. Rahane had missed the Vijay Hazare Trophy as he asked for rest due to a hamstring injury.

DRS 6

Gill

Parthiv Patel isn’t miffed with Shubman Gill’s non-selection for the T20 World Cup. The Gujarat Titans assistant and batting coach thinks Gill perhaps didn’t perform as expected. Parthiv hailed the depth in Indian cricket and advised people to empower those players who have been selected, rather than discussing those who have missed out.
