The ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 starts today, as we have three superb games lined up. However, the tournament opener between Pakistan and the Netherlands can be spoilt by rain. While the Netherlands would love it, Pakistan could face elimination owing to their own demands of boycotting the India game. Meanwhile, India also play against the USA at night. In between, the West Indies open their account against Scotland, who have replaced Bangladesh in the tournament. Meanwhile, a huge news broke out on Friday as Manchester United co-owners are likely to have submitted a non-binding bid to buy the RCB!

Manchester United to buy RCB?
Manchester United owners, the Glazer family, have emerged as top bidders for RCB, with a $1.8 billion offer through Avram Glazer’s Lancer Capital. This puts them ahead in the race but still short of Diageo’s $2.1 billion valuation. Nine parties have submitted non-binding bids, ranging from $1 billion to $1.8 billion. The Glazers have cricket experience, owning Desert Vipers in ILT20. They’re looking to tap into RCB’s strong fanbase and commercial potential, boosted by Virat Kohli’s association. Read more here.

Mohammed Siraj IN, Harshit Rana OUT
Mohammed Siraj will replace Harshit Rana in India’s T20 World Cup 2026 squad after Rana’s knee injury. Rana was ruled out after scans showed he’s unfit for the tournament. Siraj, who last played a T20I in July 2024, brings experience and bowling prowess. Captain Suryakumar Yadav said it’s a big blow, but they have enough options. Siraj has joined the Indian team in Mumbai, where they play the USA on Saturday. Read more here.
