The Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) have done it! The Smriti Mandhana-led side has outclassed the Delhi Capitals (DC) yet again to lift the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2026. This is a hat-trick for RCB now, with the franchise winning its third title in as many years. Heartbreak for Delhi as they become the first cricket team ever to lose 4 back-to-back finals in a tournament.

Pakistan prepare for boycott excuse
Despite publicly announcing they won’t play India in Colombo, the PCB is yet to formally inform the ICC and is now bracing for possible sanctions. According to reports, Pakistan plans to invoke the Force Majeure clause, claiming the call was enforced by the government and beyond the board’s control. However, the argument appears shaky. There are no security or logistical concerns, especially with the match scheduled in Sri Lanka. The BCCI has already dismissed Pakistan’s stance, pointing out contradictions, including Pakistan playing India at the Under-19 World Cup on the same day. Read more here.

Harshit Rana injury update
India’s injury concerns have deepened just days before the Men’s T20 World Cup 2026. Harshit Rana became the latest worry after hurting his knee during India’s only warm-up game against South Africa in Navi Mumbai. The pacer bowled just one over, looked uncomfortable throughout, and walked off after conceding 16 runs. While the BCCI is yet to give an update, the hope is that it’s a minor issue. The concern is unwanted, as Washington Sundar’s ongoing injury is already keeping India in a limbo, with the all-rounder still not joining the World Cup squad. Read more here.

Hat-trick for RCB!
Delhi Capitals Women endured yet another cruel ending as their wait for a WPL title stretched to four straight final defeats. After losing finals in 2023 and 2025 to Mumbai Indians and in 2024 to Royal Challengers Bengaluru, history repeated itself in 2026. DC posted a record 204 in the final at Vadodara, but RCB chased it down to lift their second WPL trophy. Smriti Mandhana and Georgia Voll stitched a match-defining 165-run stand that put RCB in control. DC fought back late with quick wickets, but Radha Yadav’s four sealed the highest successful chase in WPL history. This is RCB’s third trophy (2 women, 1 men) in three consecutive years!

Suryakumar breaks silence on IND vs PAK
India will go ahead with its plans for the February 15 clash against Pakistan at the T20 World Cup 2026, regardless of whether the match actually takes place. Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has reiterated that the team has been instructed to boycott the fixture, stating solidarity with Bangladesh. Despite that, India’s T20I captain Suryakumar Yadav confirmed that the squad will travel to Colombo as scheduled and be ready to play. He made it clear that India has not refused the game and will follow the ICC’s fixture list. Any call on the match, Suryakumar said, rests with Pakistan and the ICC, not India. Read more here.

Blow for Sri Lanka
Sri Lanka could be sweating over the fitness of fast bowler Eshan Malinga ahead of the T20 World Cup 2026. Malinga dislocated his shoulder while bowling against England earlier this month and walked off mid-over. Although initial reports suggested he might miss the tournament, Sri Lanka still named him in the squad, which includes only three specialist pacers. Captain Dasun Shanaka has admitted that Malinga’s availability remains uncertain and depends on medical clearance. Sri Lanka are keeping backup options ready but remain confident of doing well at home. Read more here.

Mustafizur Rahman’s whirlwind few weeks have finally settled with a move to the Pakistan Super League (PSL).
