Delhi Capitals had a bit of a break after their last match against CSK, but now will be raring to go vs RCB on Thursday, at the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. So far, DC is the only team who has won all their matches, and there is no reason why they can’t put up a great show against Virat Kohli and Rajat Patidar’s team; then RCB has also been in sublime form, with their batting and bowling units clicking together.
This shortish break means that Faf du Plessis and T Natarajan got a bit of an extra time to recover, and if fit, should straightaway walk into the DC playing XI. InsideSport takes a look at the DC predicted playing XI vs RCB.
KL Rahul Back in Middle-Order, Faf to Open
In Faf’s absence, KL Rahul was made to open the innings, and he was an instant hit, as he smashed 77 from 51 deliveries. He would move into the middle-order, No. 5, while the vice-captain, Faf will go into the opening slot with Jake Fraser-McGurk. In his last match vs SRH, he had scored a quickfire 50 and his return would only provide more solidity to already very solid DC team.
Sameer Rizvi Goes Out
In whatever little opportunities Rizvi has been given, he has been ineffective. In the last match vs CSK he did score 20 from 15, but that is not just not enough for him to come into the team regularly, notwithstanding any injuries in the DC camp. In 10 IPL matches overall, he has just scored 75 runs at an average of 12.50.
T Natarajan If Fit, Toss-up Between Mohit Sharma & Mukesh Kumar
The only weak link in the DC team, if at all, has been their Indian pacer.. So far Mohit Sharma and Mukesh Kumar have been playing and have been mediocre. Mohit has bowled with an economy of 9.40, while Mukesh has been expensive too, with an economy of 9.37. Instead, T Natarajan should be picked.
He hasn’t played this year at all, and is coming after a shoulder injury. But as per reports, he had a longish net session yesterday, and should be good to bowl vs RCB.
DC predicted playing XI vs RCB
Faf du Plessis, Jake Fraser-McGurk, Abishek Porel, Tristan Stubbs, KL Rahul, Axar Patel, Vipraj Nigam, Mitchell Starc, Kuldeep Yadav, T Natarajan, Mukesh Kumar. Impact Sub – Ashutosh Sharma.
