BCCI eyes Rs 450 crore sponsorship deal for 2025/28 after end of Dream11 deal

After Dream11's early exit as the major sponsor, the BCCI is now on the hunt for a new entity for the period of 2025-2028

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is reportedly eyeing a sponsorship deal valued at Rs 450 crore for the period of 2025-2028. The board’s hunt for a new sponsor comes after it ended its association with Dream11 after the passage of Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Bill in the Parliament. While it is unlikely that the BCCI will find a new sponsor in time for the Asia Cup 2025, a report has claimed that the BCCI is confident of finalizing a deal in time for the Women’s Cricket World Cup which begins on September 30.

BCCI hunts for Rs 450 crore sponsorship deal

As per NDTV, the BCCI is on the lookout for a sponsor for 140 matches scheduled to take place between 2025 and 2028. The report states that while the contract with Dream11 was valued at Rs 358 crore, the new one is an improved contract which will cover home, bilateral, multi-team tournaments organised by the ACC and the ICC.

The BCCI has also set targets of Rs 3.5 crore per bilateral match and Rs 1.5 crore for ICC and ACC fixtures-more than Dream11 but less than what it used to get from Byju’s,” the report stated.

Dream11 replaced troubled ed-tech giant Byju’s in 2023 to secure the India Cricket Team’s lead sponsorship deal for Rs 358 crore or Rs 3 crore per home match and Rs 1 crore for away games. The Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Bill 2025 aims to ban real-money online gaming. It also prohibits companies from placing ads.

BCCI and Dream 11 are discontinuing their relationship after the Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Bill, 2025, was passed. BCCI will ensure not to indulge with any such organisations ahead in future,” BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia told news agency ANI.
