Rohit Sharma is hitting the hard yards ahead of a return to India colours. Still the ODI captain, Rohit has been out of competition action after the IPL 2025 completed in June. The 38-year-old faces stiff competition to make it to the 2027 World Cup and the Mumbai stalwart is leaving no stone unturned.

Rohit Sharma has retired from Test and T20I cricket but harbours ambitions of playing the 2027 ODI World Cup in South Africa. The Indian captain will be in his 40s, and will face a challenge to remain fit. Rohit faces stiff competition from the likes of Yashasvi Jaiswal and Abhishek Sharma to nail his place in the side.
In the off season, Rohit has already begun his work. The Mumbai legend has teammed up former teammate and batting coach Abhishek Nayar in a rigorous fitness regime. Sharma and Nayar have been training over the past couple of months, and the results are there to see. Nayar, who served as India batting coach under Gautam Gambhir, shared on Wednesday that Rohit had shedded 10kgs.
