Gujarat Titans have plenty of youngsters whom they can retain for IPL 2026. Shubman Gill and co. had a near-perfect season in IPL 2025, finishing third on the points table after winning 9 out of 14 games. They narrowly missed out on a spot in the final after being eliminated by Mumbai Indians in the Eliminator.
November 15 is the deadline for teams to finalize on retentions before the IPL 2026 auction. The auction will take place in December later this year. Ahead of the IPL 2026 mini-auction, let’s take a look at 5 youngsters GT should retain.
5 youngsters GT should retain for IPL 2026
1. Sai Sudharsan
The Tamil Nadu batter, who finished as the leading run-getter in IPL 2025, is an obvious retention for GT. Ever since his IPL debut in 2022, Sudharsan has grown leaps and bounds and has amassed more runs with each passing season. In 2025, he scored 759 runs from 15 innings, averaging 54.21. Sai scored 6 fifties and one hundred, emerging as GT’s best openers to date.
2. Washington Sundar
The Tamil Nadu all-rounder was underutilized by Gt in IPL 2025 and was even linked to a trade deal with CSK as Ashwin’s replacement. However, GT have turned down that offer reportedly and he is here to stay in the team. Sundar’s meteoric rise across formats over the last year makes him a player that GT should retain. His exploit in the ongoing IND vs AUS T20I series – with both bat and ball – is a testament of why he is much-needed for the Titans in IPL 2026.
3. Manav Suthar
The 24-year-old, who has played just one match for GT – that too in 2024 – is an all-rounder that GT would crave to have. Given his consistency in domestic cricket over the last couple of years, the Titans surely won’t mind retaining the youngster for IPL 2026. The all-rounder could very well serve as a primary backup for Sundar.
4. Gurnoor Brar
Like Suthar, Brar warmed the bench throughout IPL 2025, despite being a promising bowler. He was recently a part of the India A series against Australia A and South Africa A where he impressed with his abilities to take wickets. The pacer is someone whom GT won’t mind having as back-up in their squad for IPL 2026.
5. Sai Kishore
Kishore finished IPL 2025 as the leading wicket-taker for GT in the season. He managed to bag 19 wickets from 15 games, shadowing the likes of Rashid Khan. In fact, his performance with the ball in the previous edition of the tournament is his best-ever, since he made his IPL debut in 2022.
