Catch the list of players that the Delhi Capitals (DC) should look to target at Women's Premier League (WPL) 2025 auction.

Delhi Capitals (DC) go into the WPL 2026 mega auction with a solid base but plenty of work still to do. Their retentions give them a stable core, yet the squad still has gaps that showed up in big moments last season. With eight spots open and a decent purse, DC have the space to strengthen, but they can’t afford to spend carelessly.

The auction pool is full of proven match-winners, and DC need to be smart. They require experience at the top after they released Meg Lanning, better finishing options, and more control with the ball. With Alyssa Healy among the headline names and several useful players available at reasonable prices, this is a chance for Delhi to fix the team. Here are five players they should target at the WPL 2026 auction.

Players DC should target at WPL 2026 auction

Amelia Kerr

Amelia Kerr should be one of Delhi Capitals’ top targets because she solves multiple problems at once. Delhi’s bowling often loses control in the middle overs, and Kerr is one of the best in the world at shutting teams down with leg-spin. She’s only 24 but already has 79 ODI and 72 T20I wickets, and her WPL record speaks for itself. Across her WPL career, she has 437 runs and 40 wickets.

DC would have three of the world’s best all-rounders in Sutherland, Kapp and Kerr if they manage to sign the former Mumbai Indians (MI) talent. Kerr also ended up with the Purple Cap with 18 wickets in her last edition in a title winning campaign.

Alyssa Healy

Delhi Capitals (DC) let Meg Lanning go but Alyssa Healy can be more than an able replacement. Yes, the age (35) could be the factor that DC may not go for her but Healy’s reputation is too good to ignore. She is the 9th highest T20 run-getter of all time, having scored 7054 after 301 innings. In WPL, she led UP Warriorz without much success, as her team lacked major names. However, Healy is considered one of the best keeper-batters in the world. Alongside Shafali Verma, she could form a superb opening partnership.

Saika Ishaque

Saika Ishaque is a left-arm orthodox spinner who quietly made her mark in the WPL. She has a strong record with Mumbai Indians and is now available at a base price of around INR 30 lakh. For DC, who currently don’t have a spinner in their ranks, her inclusion would bolster spin options and give the team balance. With 25 wickets, Ishaque has more WPL wickets than the likes of Ellyse Perry (14), Shabnim Ismail (20) and Renuka Singh Thakur (13).

Harleen Deol

With Jemimah, Kapp, Shafali and Sutherland, DC have a strong batting unit already. Add Harleen Deol, and Delhi would have a power-packed attack. Part of the Indian Women’s World Cup-winning squad, Deol could be the talk of the town. In this year’s WPL, she amazed with 232 runs at an average of 38.67 and a strike rate above 120.

S Sajana

S Sajana should be a must in this DC lineup. Delhi desperately need finishers and the Indian talent could be a game-changer. She made her name by hitting a six off the last ball in the inaugural season for Mumbai Indians (MI). She has entered into her 30s but there’s a dearth of finishers in the game and that’s where DC could back them.

DC retention list for WPL 2026

  1. Retention 1 – Jemimah Rodrigues (Rs 2.22 crore)
  2. Retention 2 – Shafali Verma (Rs 2.22 cr)
  3. Retention 3 – Annabel Sutherland (Rs 2.22 cr)
  4. Retention 4 – Marizanne Kapp (Rs 2.22 cr)
  5. Retention 5 – Niki Prasad (Uncapped) (Rs 50 lakh)
  6. RTM – 0
  7. Purse left: Rs 5.70 crore
