Only a handful of days remain before the start of the 2026 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL), which is set to commence from March 28. While the tournament has started to build its excitement among fans and cricket enthusiast, they are equally concerned about a few players, who are having a dismal run off late in T20 cricket. Although there remains some kind of concerns in almost all franchise camps, the three-time champions, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) are also struggling with a performance of its few players.
Despite the current concerns surrounding KKR players’ poor form, the franchise will hope that these players rediscover their rhythm and regain confidence before the tournament begins. Here in this article, let’s take a look at the few players who are struggling with consistency ahead of the much-anticipated IPL 2026 season.
3 KKR players in poor form ahead of IPL 2026
Cameron Green
Cameron Green delivered a mixed performance in T20 cricket during 2025–26 season, while serving as an all-rounder for Australia. Across T20Is in 2025, Green played 8 innings and scored 258 runs at an average of 43.0, including three half-centuries. However, his form in 2026 was slightly inconsistent. In matches during the lead-up to the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, Green recorded scores such as 21 (11) against Ireland, 22 (24) against Pakistan, 3 (7) against Sri Lanka, and 0 (2) against Zimbabwe, indicating fluctuations in his batting.
His inconsistent performance continued in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, where he could only score 24 runs across the four matches and was able to pick only 1 wicket. As a result, there remains mounting concerns on his form ahead of the IPL 2026.
Rachin Ravindra
Rachin Ravindra had a promising yet slightly inconsistent run in T20 cricket in 2025–26 season. As a left-handed batting all-rounder, Ravindra contributed with both bat and ball, showing flashes of explosive batting and useful spin bowling, but struggled with consistency. After a disappointing outing for Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in IPL 2025, where he could only accumulate 191 runs in 8 matches, he was released from the side. Although he was bought by KKR at the IPL 2026 mini-auction, but his recent performance with the bat especially, has put him in the list of poor performers.
Representing New Zealand at the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, Rachin could only score 129 runs in 9 matches, averaging 25.80. However, he proved to be comparatively successful with the ball as he picked 12 wickets in as many matches.
Rinku Singh
Rinku Singh had a moderately inconsistent performance in T20 cricket during 2025–26, with a mix of impactful cameos and a few low scores. In limited T20I appearance in 2025, he could only score 43 runs. In the recently concluded ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, he scored 24 runs in 5 matches at an average of 8. However, given that he is a consistent performer in domestic cricket across formats, KKR will be hoping he will be at his best in IPL 2026.
