Securing coveted spots in the semi-finals, Malvika, the sole Indian woman in the singles draw, showcased her prowess by defeating Malaysia’s Karupathevan Letshanaa convincingly with a scoreline of 21-12, 21-16. In the doubles category, Ashwini and Tanisha displayed resilience, overcoming Indonesia’s Jesita Putri Miantoro and Febi Setianingrum after saving four game points, ultimately clinching victory with a score of 22-20, 21-16.
Malvika’s quarterfinal strategy centered around her robust defense and the ability to engage her opponent in extended rallies. The upcoming semi-final clash promises excitement as Malvika faces Thailand’s Lalinrat Chaiwan, who secured an upset victory by defeating the third seed, Sung Shuo Yun, with a scoreline of 21-10, 16-21, 21-16.
Reflecting on her match, Malvika expressed preparedness for Letshanaa’s attacking style, stating, “My execution was quite well in the opening game, and I managed to engage her in long rallies in the second to secure the win.”

In the doubles category, Tanisha’s pursuit of a double crown remained on course as she reached the mixed doubles semi-finals alongside Dhruv Kapila, securing a quarterfinal victory against Indonesia’s Amri Syahnawi and Winny Kandow with a score of 21-16, 21-17.
Indian representation in the men’s doubles semi-finals was solidified by Hariharan Amsakarunan and R Ruban Kumar, causing an upset by defeating the 6th seeds, Kapila and Vishnuvardhan Goud, with a scoreline of 21-18, 9-21, 21-18 in an all-Indian quarterfinal. They are now poised to face the Chinese Taipei duo of Lin Bing-Wei and Su Ching Heng for a coveted spot in the final.
Regrettably, India’s campaign in men’s singles concluded after Karthikeyan Gulshan Kumar couldn’t sustain momentum, succumbing with a scoreline of 14-21, 21-12, 21-9 in the quarterfinals.
