Volkanovski and Whittaker preview: Justin Gaethje vs Rafael Fiziev
This battle, like most high-level contests at 155 pounds, has pyrotechnics written all over it. Both fighters have a talent for turning defense into offense and prefer to handle their business on their feet. Both Alexander Volkanovski and Robert Whittaker discussed the same topic and agreed that the winner would be the person who scores the first knockout.
Whittaker professed admiration for Gaethje. The UFC middleweight fighter claimed that although Gaethje is a modest individual, it is clear from talking to him about mixed martial arts that he is destined to compete in the cage. Volkanovski, in the meantime, declared: “I am thrilled for Rafael as he gets to fight someone from the top in the division and a massive name like Gaethje, and of course, it is going to be a significant battle.”

Whittaker afterward remarked something about Rafael that had pleased him. He added, “I am amazed by his one thing, and every punch or kick he throws is full of all the force and evil intentions. And throughout the entire battle, he can maintain the tempo. I am interested in watching who receives the first knockout in this fight because every strike he throws is intended to finish the opponent.”
