But fans will be shocked to know that the Argentine magician, Messi is not even in the top 50 in terms of most dribbles per 100 minutes. Since his move to the French capital, Messi has struggled for form.
According to CIES Football Observatory’s latest research, Messi’s dribbling statistics are surprisingly very low.
CIES has only taken into consideration at least 40 dribbles in Europe’s top five leagues in which Wolves star Adama Traore leads the race with a whopping 11.24 per 100 minutes of action. The Spain international is four more than second placed Rafael Leao of AC Milan. Newcastle United’s star winger Allan Saint-Maximin wraps up the top three with a dribbling statistic of 7.02.

Stade Rennais’ Kamaldeen Sulemana is a surprise inclusion in this list as he holds an impressive stat of 6.44 dribbles for every 100 minutes of action. The 19-year-old Ghanaian beats Paris Saint Germain star Neymar to the fifth spot. Whereas the Brazilian is sixth with 6.28 dribbles. Bayern Munich’s Canadian star Alphonso davies is the only representative from the Bundesliga with 6.14 dribbles in the seventh position.
Lionel Messi: Former Chelsea man Jeremy Boga has been great for Serie A outfit Sassuolo is at eighth position with 5.8 dribbles. Whereas other Serie A stars in the top 10 include Sofiane Boufal (5.52) and Uruguayan midfielder Nahitan Nandez (5.36). The tenth position is taken by another Paris Saint Germain star, Kylian Mbappe. The Frenchman has beaten Real Madrid’s Vinicius Junior to the top 10 table by only 0.07 dribbles.

Lionel Messi: Premier League players like Wilfried Zaha, Lucas Moura, Valentino Livramento and Mason Greenwood are in good positions. Whereas players like Leroy Sane, Felipe Anderson, Gerard Deulofeu and Memphis Depay have also recorded great numbers.
Surprisingly Adama Traore is also the player with the most dribbles in the world ahead of Nahuel Lujan of Universidad de Chile who is second with 9.68 dribbles.
However, Wolves head coach Bruno Lage will hope that Adama Traore gets to show more of his magic with the ball. He will hope that the former Barcelona man will help them earn more wins this season.
