Tamil Thalaivas named defender Sagar Rathee as the captain for the upcoming Pro Kabaddi League 2023(PKL 2023). The Chennai-based franchise also announced Ajinkya Pawar and Sahil Gulia as the vice-Captains, for the PKL 2023 that will geT underway from December 2, 2023.
Sagar Rathee was the stand-in skipper last year following a injury to captain Pawan Sehrawat that ruled him out of the season. Sagar played 17 matches for the team last year.
He, too, however was injured towards the end of the league stages. Ajinkya Pawar then led the side in his absence. Tamil Thalaivas successfully reached the playoffs for the first-ever time in the league last year. The team will hope to replicate a similar performance in PKL 2023.
Sagar Rathee has been part of the Tamil Thalaivas since 2019. He has scored over 150 points so far in his career. Last year, he scored 53 tackle points from 17 matches and led the team in defence from the front.

Ajinkya Pawar meanwhile has the wealth of experience on his side. He was instrumental in helping the team qualify for the playoffs last year as he scored 96 raid points last season. Sagar Gulia meanwhile was the team’s best defender last year with 57 tackle points.
Under the leadership of Sagar and the support from Ajinkya and Sahil, the team coached by Ashan Kumar will aim to continue from where they left-off and will want to better their performance in PKL 2023.
