Mohammed Shami last played a T20I game in the 2021 T20 World Cup and hasn’t featured for the Men in Blue for over a year in the shortest format of the game. He had a relatively decent spell in IPL 2022.
Deepak Chahar was ruled out for the entirety of IPL with an injury. While recovering he underwent a further injury and thus his rehab was subsequently delayed. He made a comeback in the ODI series against Zimbabwe where he got a handful of spells and missed out on the Asia Cup tournament.
Jasprit Bumrah was injured after the England tour but made a fast recovery for the T20 World Cup. The star pacer was declared fit but missed out on an opportunity to feature in the India vs Australia 1st T20I. These raise serious questions about the fitness of India’s pace unit ahead of the World Cup.
