The France team ace Kylian Mbappe and Real Madrid saga is set to begin again in around 2 months. The French player’s contract with PSG expires next summer. He has not renewed his contract with them and is not willing to stay at the club. This means, either PSG need to sell him during this winter transfer window or release him as a free agent. Hence, the saga between Mbappe, Real Madrid, and PSG could begin again. However, that means it could become Mbappe’s last chance to join his dream club.
The saga between Kylian Mbappe and Real Madrid started back in 2021. It has been going on for 2 years and it is yet to reach its conclusion. The first time Los Blancos tried to sign the player, all but a signature from Mbappe was due. However, that didn’t happen as Mbappe signed a new contract with PSG. His contract is set to expire at the end of next season in summer, 2024. PSG were trying to make him sign a contract extension since this summer transfer window.
However, Mbappe neither wanted to sign a new contract nor wanted to leave PSG this summer. This became a tricky situation and led to a conflict between Mbappe and the club. PSG president Nasser Al Khelaifi announced in front of the media that Mbappe needs to sign a contract at any cost. The transfer window came to an end, but Mbappe didn’t extend his contract. This led to PSG issuing a punishment where Mbappe would not play with the first team. However, they folded in a few days.
PSG started him back on their first team with his contract still set to end next summer. Hence, there is only one way this can go that PSG need to sell Kylian Mbappe in the winter transfer window. Otherwise, he will be walking out of the club as a free agent. Considering Mbappe is currently their best player, they would lose a lot of money if he walked away as a free agent. Hence, this could be Mbappe’s final chance to move to his dream club, Real Madrid.
Real Madrid started pursuing Mbappe a few years ago. Los Blancos have still been consistent in their chase for the French ace. However, the situation somehow got dragged to the point where reportedly, Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti now needs a proper assurance that Mbappe is ready to join. The situation could become harder for Mbappe as Madrid could shift their focus to Erling Haaland or Julian Alvarez. Both players are doing extremely well in Manchester City and are on both Madrid and Barcelona’s radar.
Considering their current form, whichever club gets their hands either on Haaland or Alvarez would benefit a lot. Hence, if the situation drags on longer, Madrid could rethink and refocus their energy and money elsewhere. However, chances are, the French star will be at Madrid by the end of next season. He has not signed a contract extension with PSG and it seems he doesn’t want to. PSG will be determined to sell him in the winter transfer window. Mbappe will have to take a decision as well for Madrid might not wait.
