India’s veteran spinner Ravichandran Ashwin has opined that the World Test Championship (WTC) final should be played as a series instead of a one-off game.
Reacting to Michael Vaughan’s ‘underachieving team’ remark, Ashwin acknowledged that the team lost two WTC finals but said that the team would have surely made a comeback if there were more Test matches.
“Yes, we lost two WTC finals, I accept it wholeheartedly. But in a case of Test series, a comeback is always possible”, Ashwin said on his YouTube channel.
“We played New Zealand in England, then we played Australia in England; we lost both. But was there a chance of comeback if we played two more Test?”, the veteran spinner added.
