Delhi Capitals’ Alice Capsey lit up the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru with a blazing fifty in the opening Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2024 clash against Mumbai Indians.
Capsey came to the crease early after the dismissal of Shafali Varma and went on counter-attacking mode from ball one.
The 20-year-old all rounder slammed her maiden WPL fifty in 36 balls. Capsey scored 75 off 53 balls before getting trapped LBW. Her quickfire knock included 8 fours and 3 sixes.
Earlier, Mumbai Indians captain Harmanpreet Kaur won the toss and opted to bowl first. The WPL 2024 started with a electrifying opening ceremony that saw Bollywood stars including Shah Rukh Khan entertaining the crowd with stellar performances.
