Team India has had bit of a break coming into the IND vs NAM match in the T20 World Cup 2026. The match is scheduled to take place in Delhi on Thursday, and there are some concerns, as far as the fitness of some of the players is concerned. Jasprit Bumrah was under the weather and so was opener Abhishek Sharma.
Abhishek Sharma to play IND vs NAM?
Tilak Varma gave an update on the health of both these players on the eve of the encounter. He said that Bumrah is available for selection, while Abhishek has been discharged from the hospital. “When we reached Delhi, he (Abhishek) had been examined. He went to the hospital for the examination. So, I think he has been discharged today, and he’s doing well,” Tilak told reporters.
“We have got one more day for the game, so hopefully we’ll decide by tomorrow how he feels, and we’ll go with it. Bumrah is also available for tomorrow’s match. But we still have one more day to take a final call on the combination,” he added.
Call to be taken on Jasprit Bumrah
It must be reminded to one and all, that even though Abhishek batted in the first match on 7th, but didn’t not take the field in the second innings. And Bumrah was not available for selection due to illness. In his absence Mohammed Siraj had been brought into the team.
Meanwhile, if Abhishek Sharma does not regain full fitness, then it will be Sanju Samson, who would return to his opening duties, this time with Ishan Kishan. After the next match, India play Pakistan on Feb 15.
