With the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 offering some edge-of-the-seat thrillers along with several record-breaking innings, another feat saw a new name emerge in the tournament. During Canada’s group stage match against New Zealand on February 17, Canada’s opening batsman Yuvraj Samra entered the record book, becoming the youngest player to score a century in the T20 World Cup history.

Yuvraj Singh Samra reached the three-figure mark off 58 deliveries with a boundary off Kyle Jamieson’s over at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. With this, he also became the first player from Associate Nation to score a hundred in T20 World Cup history. The 19-year-old broke the record of Pakistan cricketer Ahmed Shehzad, who achieved the feat in the 2014 edition of the tournament in a match against Bangladesh in Mirpur.
