With the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 nearing its half stage mark, in match number 27, the arch-rivals in India and Pakistan are set to reunite in Group A clash at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. Known to be Pakistan’s premier batter, Babar Azam boasts of impressive overall T20I numbers, but his record against India in T20Is is also one to remember.

In his five T20I encounters with India, Babar Azam has scored 105 runs at an average of 26.25 and a strike rate of 128.04. However, his overall numbers in T20I cricket speaks volumes as he has amassed 4566 runs in 141 matches, striking at the rate of 128.29. The veteran Pakistan batter’s standout performance came in 2021 T20 World Cup, where he struck an unbeaten 68 in what was Pakistan’s lone win over India in the tournament.

Speaking of Babar Azam’s recent run of form, the batter’s form has been subject of intense debate. After being left out of the squad due to strike rate concerns, he made a comeback through the Big Bash League (BBL). Moreover, the Pakistan veteran showed positive signs in their Group stage match against USA earlier this week, playing a knock of 46 off 32 balls, but was seen struggling against spin.
